American Timber and Steel offers a complete line of energy absorbing Crash Cushions and End Terminals. These cushions are placed at the beginning and/or end of a guard rail run. When hit head on, these cushions are designed to absorb much of the vehicles forward energy so that the vehicle comes to a controlled stop. When the cushion systems are hit from the side, they act as normal guard rail and help redirect the vehicle towards its original path.
FLEAT • Only Flared Energy Absorbing End Terminal to meet NCHRP 350 • Lighter weight head facilitates installation. • FLEATE head is typically reusable after a design impact • Interchangeable components with SKTE • NCHRP Report 350 Test Level 2 and Test Level 3 compliant Specifications • Variable Offset: 25’ = 1’8” - 2’8” & 37.5’ = 2.5’ to 4’ • Length: 25’ TL2 & 37.5’ TL3 • Standard: 12’6” Rail • Post Spacing: 6’3”
SKT • Activates with lower impact forces than other tangent terminals • SKTE head is typically reusable after a design impact • Interchangeable components with FLEATE • NCHRP Report 350 Test Level 2 and Test Level 3 compliant Specifications • Offset: (25:1) 25’ = 1’ Offset & 50’ = 2’ Offset • Length: 25’ TL2 & 50’ TL3 • Standard: 12’6” or 25’ Rail • Post Spacing: 6’3”
ET-Plus • Tall, narrow extruder head Softer ride down for smaller vehicles • Lighter weight head facilities installation • ET-PlusE head is typically reusable after a design impact • NCHRP Report 350 Test Level 2 and Test Level 3 compliant Specifications • Offset: 0 to 2’ • Length: 25’, TL2 & 50’ TL3 • Post Spacing: 6’3”
SRT-350 • 3’0” - 4’0” offset results in reduced installation costs. • Improved angle structs allow for easier installation • Fewer posts and a straight layout provide cost savings in construction, making replacement easier • NCHRP Report 350 Test Level 3 compliant Specifications • Offset: 3’0” to 4’0” • Length: 37.5’ TL3 • Post Spacing: 6’3” • Parabolic or straight flare options
