The dream to one day, as in the old days, bring back boats being pulled by mules to the C&O Canal in Georgetown.

The Georgetown Heritage with the National Park Service revitalized a mile long stretch in 2019 of the Southern portion of the canal where Rock Creek meets the Potomac River.  Along with replacing the necessary bricks of canal walls, they added wood timber canal doors to be able to create pockets along the canal so portions can be used again for various boating activities.
