Sea Wall and Marine Timbers
Marine and Seawall timbers are another one of our specialty lines for such uses as Shoreline Stabilization, Structural Supports for Pier Docks, Wales, Chocks, Fender Poles, Bridge and Pier Fender Systems, Dolphin Clusters and Guide Walls for Locks and Dams.
We prefer the use of Southern Yellow Pine because of its strength and its ability to allow the chemical to penetrate deep within the timber for better protection but most other wood species are also available. We then treat with CCA, CA-C or MCA to the proper retention based on whether they application is for fresh water or salt water. Then to help stabilize, strengthen and reduce shrinkage, Kiln Drying After Treatment (KDAT) is an option.
